You can have a new password emailed to you by going to the Forgot Password page. Enter either your bidorbuy Username or the exact email address that you used to register with. You will then be sent an email with a new password. Using this new password you can then change it to something that is easier for you to remember by logging into the my bidorbuy area and clicking on the Change my password link.
A common problem that users have when trying to log in is that sometimes users copy and paste the password from the email that they receive from us and take with the copy a trailing space on the end (this will cause the login to fail). Also, if you are typing it in, make sure that you are not typing a letter when the actual character is a number (or vice versa).
In order to close your bidorbuy account please send an email to hello@bidorbuy.co.ke to request closure of your account. Note that you will still be liable for payment of any outstanding fees to bidorbuy should this be applicable.
The ratings system promotes freedom of speech on bidorbuy. Buyers and sellers are given the opportunity to respond to any ratings giving their side of the story for all to see. Normally we do not get involved in rating disputes. We encourage users to rate other users with respect to the experience they have while transacting. bidorbuy however reserves the right to delete any rating at its sole discretion upon an investigation into the rating and will only remove ratings in exceptional circumstances.

bidorbuy has various status levels on the site - Enabled, Disabled and Blacklisted.
If an account is disabled this could be due to various reasons, for example - awaiting confirmation of personal details, policy contraventions and violations, abuse of the system, service or delivery related issues etc. If an account is disabled this means the user cannot access their bidorbuy account, but if they are a seller, their open listings will continue to run as normal. They will still receive email notifications from bidorbuy relating to items bought or sold, or activity on their items listed or bid on.
Blacklisted generally means that the user's account has been closed for a variety of reasons. They could have failed to pay their fees, service or non-fulfillment issues, increase in negative ratings and SNC's, fraud related issues, abuse of the system or continued violation of the bidorbuy terms of use and listing policy. The user will not have access to their account, they will not receive any further email notifications from bidorbuy and if they are a seller, all their open items will be removed and all bids deleted.
For security and privacy reasons we do not divulge the exact reason why an account has been disabled or blacklisted, unless fraud has taken place, then we notify the buyers as soon as the account has been blacklisted. We always recommend that buyers proceed with caution when dealing with blacklisted sellers.
Note, blacklisted (in the context of bidorbuy) does not mean blacklisted with the credit bureau's. It means the account has been closed on the bidorbuy site.
bidorbuy encourages its users to 'rate' each other. Ratings are dependent on actual experiences that users like you have while buying and selling. Buyers rate sellers based on seller service and product quality. Sellers rate buyers depending on ease of transaction, receiving payments etc. There are three kinds of ratings - Positive, Negative and Neutral.
Example Buyer's rating to seller: Great service. Delivered the product on time and in excellent packaging! Recommended seller.
Example Seller's rating to buyer: Genuine buyer. Quick in making payments. Highly recommended.
Before buying and selling, you can view the ratings of other users which will help you take an informed decision. This way bidorbuy guards against buyers and sellers who may have a bad history of transactions. By providing an open platform such as 'Ratings' bidorbuy promotes the basic value of honesty.
How to Rate Another User?
You can rate the users you transact with through your 'my bidorbuy'. Please remember that you can rate another user only if you have transacted with them on bidorbuy.
